Small Business Saturday is on 28 November 2026. It comes the Saturday after Thanksgiving in the US. Shops in the UK, Canada and Australia use the day too, to ask neighbours to shop local.
Here is a made-up shop to show how a small business Saturday flyer comes together. The shop is Tilly's Corner, a small home decor shop on a high street. The names and prices are samples.
Monday: a problem
Tilly has a good shop and no designer. Last year big shops filled everyone's phone with sale ads. Her neighbours forgot her.
This year she wants one simple flyer. It must say what she sells, a price, and that she is open on Saturday.
Tuesday: three gifts, not thirty
She does not list her whole shop. She picks three gifts that people buy fast.
- A soy wax candle tin for $12.
- A white ceramic pitcher for $29.
- A wicker picnic basket for $39.
One cheap gift, one middle gift and one bigger gift. A shopper with any budget finds something.
Wednesday: one flyer for each gift
Tilly opens the free New Arrivals flyer template. She clicks Use with my photos and adds her three photos.
Each photo becomes its own flyer page. She types a name and a price for each one. In the box "A sentence or two about it" she writes a short line, such as "Hand poured in the shop".
Thursday: make it about Saturday
A flyer that only says "Just in" does not tell people why to come this weekend.
On the next screen, Next: choose a look, she types her shop name in "Your business name". In the "Title" box she writes "Shop small Saturday". Now every page carries the day in big letters.
She then clicks Create catalog. The flyer opens in the editor. In the short line she adds her hours: "Open 9 to 6 this Saturday". She also changes the sample phone number and email at the bottom to her own.
The pictures here show the template before those changes. Her words take the place of "Just in".
Friday: send it
